Emo is a really fantastic way for us to dress. It's really exciting and it mixes lots of different elements together and I personally think it takes a lot of influence from the goth look but it makes it much more fun and much more exciting and I think, a lot more friendly. So what it is, is it's dressing lots of different black layering but then injecting really vibrant colour and I really think a great example of that is this top.
It looks fantastic with either a skirt or a little rah-rah skirt, some black leggings, some cool trainers, but it injects that really vibrant colour. And then, what you might want to do to add to that emo look is to get something really really colorful like this scarf and it's got a bit of a cartoon print on it as well and just mix that in with it. Just because it makes it a lot more exciting, you can even use this as a waist belt as well or tie it around your jeans to make it more exciting.
What it is, is injecting that fun, exciting, vibrant colour and it's a much more friendly look as well. Another really key look for emos is to go for those stripes. So I've got the stripes in the top, I've got the cartoons there but you could go for stripes tie.
So just wear a plain black t-shirt, add in a really cool stripe tie. It's got all this detailing on it as well. Just to give that injection of colour but also excitement, and if you want to take it to the next level, why not even try adding in some fab vibrant braces, a black t-shirt and then mixing in this clashing red and black tie together.
The whole look is really about injecting that colour and that friendliness to that goth feel. Really important thing about dressing emo is it's about getting that whole image right. You don't want to look like, you know, you're trying to do a little bit of goth and you're trying to do a little bit of emo but you've not got the look quite right.
So it's really important to make sure your hairstyle is right and I think that's the most important element of emo dressing as well as adding in those colours. It's about the hairstyle and it's a really specific look where it's all swept from one side over the face and the look is really really kind of jagged and choppy.
