A woman describes methods of preventing and curing chapped lips, and demonstrates her technique on a younger woman. She uses products such as shea nut butter, which is a harmless tasty product because it is natural. She recommends using the butter carefully, and lightly.
Today, we are going to be looking at chapped lips. I'm afraid Jeanette has very chapped lips, today. She hasn't been protecting her lips well enough; she hasn't been using our shea nut butter, so I'm going to be doing a little treatment on her to get rid of that, and then, she's going to pick mental ways and make sure she, always, uses shea nut butter.
Now, the reason we have chapped lips, and they affect our lives is: A. They're painful. B.
If you're applying lipstick of any kind, or anything to your lips, it always looks not quite as good as if you have a really good, smooth foundation. So the thing I am going to be applying is a really nice gentle --and it has to be very gentle, because the skin on the lips is very, very sensitive-- facial scrubs, and you really don't need much of this product. What I'm going to be doing is, I'm going to be applying it dry, so make sure that you lightly use very gentle circular movements, and you'll see that's going to be removing all of the dry skin.
Purse your lips for me--good, just, make sure you don't swallow this. This is an organic product, so all of the ingredients are very natural, but you don't, really, want to be swallowing that. Okay, now leave it in here, and I'm going to be using a wet cotton pad to wipe that, and you can feel already, your skin looks brighter and you finish off with a dry pad --not in the lips, though-- again, the lips are feeling already so much softer.
And then, I'm going to be applying some of this wonderful soft shea butter, this is the most extraordinary ingredient. It has huge amounts of humectants ingredients in it, and if you use this daily, you really won't get to the point where you have chapped lips. Also, because it's a natural product, it's not like a fine paraffin wax which is unfortunately what most people apply to their lips, this is something that is a foodstuff, and it is very very gentle but also incredibly natural.
So I'm actually going to be applying a little bit of this. You don't need much; that is enough for the whole of the lips. Remember that this is a treatment, so you're going to be leaving this on, and simply dab it in; and one of the things about shea butter is that it melts at body temperature, so it's extraordinarily luxurious for skin.
And if you happen to eat it, it tastes nice. But you're not supposed to eat it, but if you do by accident, rub your lips across it. You'll find it's a nice delicious flavor, with orange in it.
Okay, let's just finish up now, and that's how to deal with chapped lips.
