Ingredients

  • 200 ml full fat milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 40 g cornflour
  • 65 g caster sugar
  • 2 large cooking apples
  • 100 ml water
  • 4 pastry cases

Method

Peel and core the apples, then cook them with 100 ml of water and 25 g of the caster sugar until the water has evaporated. Lay the cooked apples into the bottom of the pastry cases.

Mix the eggs, milk, 40 g of sugar, the cornflour and vanilla essence; then pour the mixture into the pastry cases.

Bake for about 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
